Our Founder
Nothing great in the world has been accomplished without passion...
Even at a young age, I was passionate. Whether it was music or the art of dance as a child or riding and training horses, I felt compelled to pursue certain things that stirred me from the inside.
Moving from Europe to the United States, I made America my home in 2002. I worked in Kentucky on a student visa, working with horses and studying for my B.A. in Business. The urge to try modeling influenced my move to Los Angeles in 2003. I decided to shift gears and study massage therapy as I completed my degree in International Business. Soon after graduation, I started as an administrative assistant with an Internet marketing company in downtown Los Angeles.
My life was not all work. A boyfriend introduced me to motorcycles and, after spending months on the back, I was ready to ride. Once I was up front and in control, I was addicted. The first bike I purchased was a 1982 Suzuki GS550. It had just 8,000 miles on it, and I got it for a steal. A friend of mine let me ride his 2003 Yamaha R1 and, after just four times, my love affair for motorcycles was in full force and I knew that I needed my own sport bike.
I wanted a new motorcycle so badly but could not afford one on my current salary without making some changes. Personal sacrifice endured when I decided to move from a modern apartment with an ocean view to a smaller unit. Before long, I had saved enough to buy my new 2007 Suzuki GSXR 750.
When I began shopping for a leather motorcycle jacket and leather motorcycle pants, I realized that the female market was not being addressed properly. I could not find women’s riding apparel that made me feel sexy while maintaining my safety. Other female riders agreed. It was so frustrating that it led me to start sketching my own designs. Once I had a couple of concepts, I decided to manufacture my first prototype. That’s when Racy Lady was born. The process was a total learning experience with a few ups and downs along the way. However, the desire to share my designs with other female motorcycle riders helped me achieve the ultimate goal of making Racy Lady a reality.
